1212 PEARL

Located in the heart of downtown Boulder, on the historic Pearl Street Mall, this newly renovated, mixed-use building offers superior retail and office space. This historic building is conveniently surrounded by a variety of shops, restaurants and financial institutions.
The Bergheim Building was designed and built in 1875-1876 to be a stylish addition to the vibrant commercial 1200 block of Pearl Street. Newspaper articles written in the spring of 1876 described it as "promising to be the most handsome building in town."
In the early 1930's the original Victorian façade of the building was changed and the second floor was abandoned and sealed. The building is named after the Bergheim family, who occupied it for nearly 67 years. After acquiring the building from Joe Bergheim in 2006, Thomas W. Thorpe and P.N. Eklund Interests rehabilitated the entire building, bringing in modern business amenities, while restoring the original 1876 character and detail to both the interior and exterior.
The Bergheim Building is a "Contributing Building" in both the Downtown National Historic District and the City of Boulder Downtown Historic District.
